Gatermann + Schossig, Cologne / Germany, was founded by Dörte Gatermann and Elmar Schossig in 1984. From the very beginning, the Firm was unusually successful at the highest artistic and technical level in all classical fields of architecture. Their particular expertise is in developing efficient ground plans for buildings and innovative products. In each stage of the development process, Gatermann + Schossig includes professionals from all areas of expertise in order to achieve the best results in creating special buildings that are cost effective as well as material and energy efficient. Developers and investors appreciate the integral planning approach, which creates aesthetically pleasing and economically viable buildings. The Firm achieved its greatest success in the construction of industrial and administrative buildings. Gatermann + Schossig is known for high technical and environmentally sustainable standards and for its award winning innovations. Gatermann+Schossig´s work has been honored with well over 150 competitive prizes and awards and has been published and exhibited both nationally and internationally. After a prolonged illness, Elmar Schossig died in 2009. Dörte Gatermann continues to lead the office toward a prosperous future by developing innovative products in architecture together with experienced Project Managers Holger Thor, Sven Gaeßler and Jan Rübenstrunk.
